this is a community for the sick and twisted lovers of JoSHAGles work and all the other artists that bring you SHAG art. "I never planned to show paintings in a gallery setting," Shag says. "It just didn't seem appropriate for the work I was making -- it was much less serious, abstract, or intellectual than other contemporary paintings I saw in fine art establishments. I just wanted to make pretty pictures." These "pretty pictures" have struck a chord with viewers and collectors. Though he spends up to 12 hours a day painting, Shag has trouble keeping up with the demand for his paintings. These depictions of a mythical "Swinger's Life," with the requisite women, cocktails, lounges and sports cars, are sought after by collectors worldwide.
